Creamsicle Orange Cookies
Ingredients:
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
1 large egg
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 tbsp orange zest about 1 large orange
3 tbsp fresh orange juice
1 1/2 cups white chocolate chips
Instructions:
Preheat and Prepare:
Preheat your oven to 350F 175C. Line baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone baking mats.
Mix the Dry Ingredients:
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
Cream the Butter and Sugars:
In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
Add the egg and vanilla extract, beating until well combined.
Add the Orange Flavor:
Mix in the orange zest and fresh orange juice until the mixture is fragrant and evenly combined.
Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients:
Gradually add the dry flour mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined. Gently fold in the white chocolate chips.
Shape the Cookies:
Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough and place them onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
Bake:
Bake the cookies for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden and the centers look set. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
