Flu & Cold Relief Tea Bombs
Ingredients:
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup light corn syrup
1/4 cup water
2-3 drops food coloring optional
1-2 teaspoons ground ginger optional, for added immune support
2-3 herbal tea bags like chamomile, ginger, lemon, or peppermint
Honey sticks or a drizzle of honey for serving
Lemon slices for serving
Directions:
Prepare Molds:
Lightly grease half-sphere silicone molds or hard candy molds to prevent sticking.
Make the Sugar Mixture:
In a saucepan, combine the granulated sugar, corn syrup, and water. Heat over medium, stirring until the sugar dissolves completely.
Heat to Hard Crack Stage:
Use a candy thermometer to heat the mixture to 300F 150C, the “”hard crack”” stage. Once it reaches this temperature, remove it from heat.
Add Color and Flavor Optional:
Stir in a few drops of food coloring and a teaspoon of ground ginger if using for flavor. Mix thoroughly.
Mold the Tea Bombs:
Carefully pour the hot sugar mixture into the prepared molds, filling each one halfway. Place a pinch of tea leaves or a small piece of a tea bag in each mold.
Seal the Bombs:
Once the mixture in the molds begins to set, fill each mold with another layer of the sugar mixture to seal in the tea. Allow them to harden completely, about 30 minutes.
Serve the Tea Bombs:
To enjoy, drop a tea bomb into a cup of hot water. Let it dissolve, then stir in honey and add a slice of lemon for extra comfort.
