Russian Tea Balls

Ingredients:

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

1/2 cup powdered sugar plus extra for coating

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

1/4 teaspoon salt

3/4 cup finely chopped nuts walnuts, pecans, or almonds

Additional powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions:

Preparation:

Preheat your oven to 400F 200C.

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.

Make the Dough:

In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter and 1/2 cup of powdered sugar until light and fluffy.

Mix in the vanilla extract.


In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour and salt, then gradually add to the butter mixture. Mix until just combined.

Fold in the chopped nuts until evenly distributed.

Shape the Cookies:

Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet about 1 inch apart.

Bake:

Coat with Powdered Sugar:
