Brown Sugar Ham Glaze
Ingredients:
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup honey
1/4 cup orange juice
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves optional
Pinch of salt
Instructions:
Prepare the Glaze:
In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the brown sugar, honey, orange juice, Dijon mustard, ground cinnamon, and cloves if using.
Stir constantly until the sugar is fully dissolved and the mixture starts to simmer.
Cook the Glaze:
Allow the glaze to simmer gently for 3-5 minutes until it thickens slightly. Remove from heat and let it cool for a few minutes. It will thicken further as it cools.
Glaze the Ham:
Preheat your oven to 325F 160C and prepare the ham according to your preferred method spiral-cut, bone-in, or boneless.
Place the ham in a roasting pan and brush the glaze generously over the entire surface of the ham.
Bake the Ham:
Bake the ham, uncovered, for about 15 minutes per pound, brushing it with more glaze every 20-30 minutes.
During the final 15 minutes of cooking, increase the oven temperature to 400F 200C to caramelize the glaze.
Serve:
Remove the ham from the oven and let it rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing. Serve with any remaining glaze drizzled over the slices.
