Blood Orange Ginger Cranberry Mojito
Ingredients
– 1 cup fresh lightly packed mint leaves
– 2 limes, cut into wedges
– 8 ounces white rum 弄
– Blood Orange Soda San Pellegrino has a great option 磻
– 1 cup unsweetened pure cranberry juice
– Ice cubes
– Mint leaves, lime wedges, and fresh blueberries for garnish
For the Ginger Simple Syrup:
– A knob of peeled raw ginger, about 2 long 六
– cup water
– cup sugar
For the Sugar Rim:
– Lime wedge
– Brown sugar
Garnish: Fresh mint, cranberries, and slivers of candied ginger
Instructions
1. To prepare the Ginger Simple Syrup: In a small saucepan, mix together the ginger, sugar, and water. Bring to a simmer while stirring until the sugar dissolves around 2 minutes. Allow it to cool; you can make this in advance.
2. For the Sugar Rim: Moisten the rims of your glasses with a lime wedge then gently dip them in brown sugar. Let them dry as you get everything else ready.
3. Making the Mojitos: Evenly distribute the mint and lime wedges among four sturdy highball glasses. Add two tablespoons of simple syrup to each glass and muddle them together to release their flavors.
Fill most of each glass with ice cubes, followed by rum and blood orange soda. Finally, add a splash of cranberry juice on top a couple of tablespoons. You can either leave it layered for visual appeal or stir it all together.
4. Garnishing: Finish off with fresh mint leaves, cranberries, and slivers of candied ginger on top.
Enjoy your festive and refreshing drink!
