2 oz blue curaçao
1 oz white crème de cacao
1 oz vanilla-infused simple syrup
1/2 oz fresh lemon juice
Silver sanding sugar for rim
Star-shaped cocktail stirrers for garnish
Crushed ice for shaking
For the vanilla simple syrup:
1 cup water
1 cup granulated sugar
1 vanilla bean, split lengthwise or 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
Glass Preparation:
Pour some silver sanding sugar onto a small plate
Run a lemon wedge around the rim of each martini glass
Dip the rims in the silver sugar, rotating gently to coat evenly
Set glasses aside to let the sugar rim set
To make vanilla simple syrup:
Combine water and sugar in a small saucepan
Heat over medium heat, stirring until sugar dissolves completely
Add split vanilla bean or extract
Simmer for 5 minutes
Remove from heat and let cool completely
Strain if using vanilla bean
Store in an airtight container in refrigerator
Cocktail Instructions:
Fill a cocktail shaker with crushed ice
Add vodka, blue curaçao, crème de cacao, vanilla simple syrup, and lemon juice
Shake vigorously for 20-30 seconds until thoroughly chilled
Strain carefully into the prepared martini glasses to preserve the sugar rim
Garnish each glass with a star-shaped stirrer
Serve immediately
Presentation Tips:
Chill martini glasses in freezer for 15 minutes before serving
For the deepest midnight blue color, use premium blue curaçao
Serve in a dimly lit setting to enhance the dramatic color
Place glasses on a mirrored surface for added sparkle
Consider adding a light dusting of edible silver shimmer dust to the finished cocktail for extra glamour
