Cinnamon Sugar Bacon Donuts with Bourbon Whipped Cream
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup sugar
1 egg
1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 tsp vanilla extract
6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
1/2 cup cinnamon sugar for coating
For the Bourbon Whipped Cream:
1 cup heavy cream
1 tbsp powdered sugar
1 tbsp bourbon
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 350F 175C and grease a donut pan.
In a bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, sugar, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
Gently fold in the crumbled bacon.
Spoon the batter into the donut pan, filling each mold about 2/3 full.
Bake for 12-15 minutes, until golden and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
While the donuts are baking, whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar and bourbon until stiff peaks form.
Once the donuts are done, allow them to cool for a few minutes, then roll them in cinnamon sugar.
Serve with a dollop of bourbon whipped cream on top and enjoy the sweet and savory treat!
