– 1/2 cup 115ml whole milk, at room temperature

– 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

– 2 teaspoons baking powder

– 1 teaspoon salt

– 1 cup 200g unsalted butter, softened

– 2 cups 400g powdered sugar

– 1/2 cup 120g unsweetened cocoa powder for filling

– Optional: Chocolate shavings or chopped nuts for garnish


Instructions:

1. Preheat your oven to 375F 190C and line a 10×15-inch 25×38 cm jelly roll pan with parchment paper for easy removal later.

2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, unsweetened cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt until well combined.

3. Next, add the whole milk, eggs, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix thoroughly until the batter is smooth and free of lumps.

4. Pour the cake batter evenly into the prepared jelly roll pan, spreading it out to get an even layer.

5. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
