Caramel Cream Cheese Pound Cake with a Twist

Treat yourself to a delightful slice of this moist pound cake, drizzled with luscious caramel. Perfect for any occasion!

Ingredients:

– 3 cups 375g all-purpose flour

– cup 115g unsalted butter

– 1 8 oz package cream cheese, softened

– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

– 6 large eggs

– teaspoon salt

– 1 cups 340g granulated sugar

– cup 120ml heavy cream

– 1 cup 200g brown sugar

Instructions:

1. Prepare the cake batter: Begin by preheating your oven to 325F 165C. Grease a bundt pan to ensure easy removal after baking. In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened unsalted butter and cream cheese. Use an electric mixer to beat them together until the mixture is smooth and creamy.

2. Gradually add the granulated sugar to the butter and cream cheese mixture. Continue beating until the mixture is light and fluffy, which takes about 3-4 minutes. Next, add the eggs one by one, ensuring to mix well after each addition to fully incorporate them.

3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour and salt. Gradually incorporate this dry mixture into the wet ingredients, mixing gently until just combined. Finish by stirring in the vanilla extract for that lovely added flavor.

4. Bake the cake: Pour the prepared batter evenly into the greased bundt pan. Bake in the preheated oven for 75-85 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. Once done, allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

5. Make the caramel glaze: In a medium-sized saucepan over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter. Once melted, stir in the brown sugar and heavy cream. Bring this mixture to a gentle simmer and cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring frequently to combine the ingredients well. Remove from heat, then stir in the vanilla extract and salt, creating a rich caramel sauce.

6. Assemble the cake: Once the cake has cooled completely, drizzle the warm caramel glaze generously over the top. Allow the glaze to set for 10-15 minutes before slicing into this decadent treat.
