Grandmas Gingersnap Cookies

Ingredients:

3/4 cup butter, softened

1 cup granulated sugar plus extra for rolling

1 large egg

1/4 cup molasses

2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

2 tsp ground ginger

1 tsp ground cinnamon

1/2 tsp ground cloves


2 tsp baking soda

1/4 tsp salt

Instructions:

1 Preheat your oven to 350F 175C and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2 In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg and molasses.

3 In another bowl, whisk together the flour, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until well combined.

4 Scoop small portions of dough about 1 tbsp, roll them into balls, and then roll in granulated sugar.

5 Place on the prepared baking sheet about 2 inches apart and bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges are set.

6 Cool for a few minutes on the sheet before transferring to a wire rack. Enjoy the warm, spicy goodness!
