Worlds Best Pasta Sauce!
Ingredients:
2 tbsp olive oil
1 medium onion, finely chopped
4 garlic cloves, minced
1 28 oz can crushed tomatoes
1 6 oz can tomato paste
1 15 oz can tomato sauce
1 tbsp sugar optional
2 tsp dried basil
1 tsp dried oregano
1/2 tsp dried thyme
1/4 tsp red pepper flakes optional
Salt and pepper, to taste
1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped for garnish
Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving optional
Instructions:
1 In a large saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until soft and translucent, about 5 minutes.
2 Add minced garlic and cook for 1 more minute until fragrant.
3 Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, and tomato sauce.
4 Season with sugar, basil, oregano, thyme, red pepper flakes if using, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer.
5 Reduce heat and simmer for 30-45 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens and the flavors meld together.
6 Serve over your favorite pasta and top with fresh basil and Parmesan cheese if desired. Enjoy the rich, flavorful sauce!
