Make-Ahead Breakfast Casserole
Ingredients:
6 slices of bread, cubed
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup diced onion
1/2 cup diced bell pepper red or green
1 cup cooked turkey or chicken sausage, crumbled
6 large eggs
1 cup milk
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
Instructions:
1 Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish and layer the cubed bread in the bottom.
2 Top with cheese, diced onion, bell pepper, and cooked turkey sausage.
3 In a separate bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Pour the mixture evenly over the ingredients in the dish.
4 Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight to allow the flavors to meld.
5 Preheat the oven to 350F 175C and bake, uncovered, for 35-40 minutes, or until the casserole is golden and set.
6 Let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy!
