Texas Sheet Cake
Ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups granulated sugar
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup unsalted butter
1 cup water
1/2 cup buttermilk
2 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 cup powdered sugar
1/2 cup milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions:
1 Preheat the oven to 350F 175C. Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking dish.
2 In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda, and salt.
3 In a saucepan, bring butter and water to a boil, then pour into the dry ingredients. Stir in buttermilk, eggs, and vanilla. Mix until smooth.
4 Pour the batter into the prepared dish and bake for 30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
5 For the frosting, heat milk, butter, and cocoa in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir in powdered sugar and vanilla until smooth.
6 Pour the frosting over the warm cake and allow to set.
7 Slice, serve, and enjoy!
