Apple Cake
A moist and flavorful cake filled with the comforting taste of fresh apples!
Ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
1 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 cups peeled and diced apples about 2 medium apples
1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans optional
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 350F 175C. Grease and flour a 9×9-inch baking dish.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Add the eggs and vanilla, and mix well.
Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
Gently fold in the diced apples and nuts if using.
Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish.
Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Let cool before serving. Enjoy with a dollop of whipped cream or a sprinkle of powdered sugar!
