One-Pot Spaghetti with Meat Sauce
A quick and satisfying meal where spaghetti and savory meat sauce cook together in one pot!
Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef or turkey
1 small onion chopped
2 garlic cloves minced
2 cups marinara sauce store-bought or homemade
3 cups water or chicken broth
12 oz spaghetti uncooked
1 tsp Italian seasoning
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/4 tsp red pepper flakes optional
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Fresh basil for garnish
Instructions:
Heat a large, deep skillet or pot over medium heat. Cook the ground meat with chopped onion until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon. Drain excess grease if needed.
Add garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant. Stir in marinara sauce, water or chicken broth, Italian seasoning, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes if using.
Bring to a simmer and add the spaghetti, making sure it is submerged in the liquid. Gently stir to prevent sticking.
Cover and cook over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally, for 10-12 minutes, or until the spaghetti is tender and the sauce thickens. Add a little more water if needed to achieve the desired consistency.
Sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese and fresh basil before serving hot.
