30-Minute Chocolate Fudge Cake
Ingredients:
– 1 cup all-purpose flour
– 1 cup granulated sugar
– 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
– 1 teaspoon baking powder
– 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

– 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

– 1/2 cup boiling water
For the Fudge Frosting:
– 1/2 cup unsalted butter
– 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
– 1/4 cup milk
– 2 cups powdered sugar
– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions:
1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350F 175C. Grease and flour an 8×8-inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper.
2. Make the Cake Batter: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Add the melted butter, milk, egg, and vanilla extract. Mix until the batter is smooth and well combined. Stir in the boiling water until fully incorporated the batter will be thin.
3. Bake the Cake: Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the cake to cool slightly while you prepare the fudge frosting.
4. Make the Fudge Frosting: In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the cocoa powder and cook for 1 minute. Remove from the heat and whisk in the milk, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
5. Frost the Cake: While the cake is still warm, pour the fudge frosting over the top, spreading it evenly with a spatula. Let the frosting set for 10-15 minutes before slicing.
